Dante’s View
Death Valley’s Premier Viewpoint
Dante’s View might’ve been my absolute favorite spot in the whole park. You’ll be met with some epic views after a winding 12 mile drive up hill. Over 5,500 feet above sea level, you’ll have amazing views of the entire valley all the way to Mesquite Flats.
There is a large viewing platform with access to two separate ridgeline hikes, both equally mesmerizing and terrifying. Or you can hang around and people watch. On the day I went, I spent almost 40 minutes watching some woman try to unalive herself to get the perfect mountainside selfie. I just couldn’t tear myself away.

Before the road begins to really gain in elevation, you’ll find a parking lot on the right side of the road across from Greenwater Rd. This is a trailer drop off. At the top, you’ll find a small circular parking lot with space for maybe 20 cars and a few oversized vans.

Pros: The views are absolutely amazing and worth the drive alone. The southern trail is not very difficult and absolutely worth checking out. Cons: Again, it’s fairly accessible so that means lots o’ people. The 24 mile loop takes a bit of time to complete.
