Maui

Also known as “The Valley Isle”, Maui is the second largest of the Hawaiian islands. Famous for its black sand beaches, sacred ‘Iao Valley, and Haleakala National Park, it also boasts some of the best snorkeling and surfing conditions in the world.

I ended up going to Maui in the most random of ways. I found out my company has a friends and family discount with a big hotel chain, and I wanted to abuse it to its fullest extent. I began surfing locations and landed on a cute little property waterfront in the historical town of Lahaina on Maui island. Being my third time to the islands, I didn’t have that high of expectations. My Hawaiian friend told me a week was overkill; I could’ve done Maui in two days.

Fast forward and a whole week was nowhere near enough time. To my great surprise, Maui was absolutely incredible. Needless to say, I could’ve stayed a month and can’t wait to go back.
