Sheep Hills
By Adnate
This was number five on day one. By then I’d been in the car at least five hours and was really struggling to power through it. These silos were by far the farthest from the road, about two miles from the main street. The painting was facing the opposite and when we rounded the corner, just wow. I was beyond floored. It was the most amazing silo art I ended up seeing my entire stay in Australia, and I wish I’d gotten to spend a little more time there just taking in the view. I was able to get some amazing drone shots, which can be found on my Instagram page.
In order to gain inspiration for the silos, Adnate spent time among the Barnegi-Gaijin in northwest Victoria. Aunty Regina Hood, a Wotjobaluk elder, is featured on the silos among two small children, Savannah Marks and Curtly McDonald. Adnate completed the installation in late 2016.
