Avoca

By Jimmi Buscombe

The Avoca Silo was our first stop of The Silo Art Trail, Day 1. It is a smaller scale than many of the other ones and I found somewhat less impressive (don’t hate me!). We also didn’t see it in it’s prime. That’s because this is the first silo of it’s kind to feature strontium paint, creating a glow in the dark effect. Unfortunately, you’ll find that all of the silos are out in the middle of nowhere, so to speak, and driving from dusk to dawn is extremely dangerous. If you’re interested in seeing this silo in all it’s glory, I suggest staying in town and simply walking over.
